    A Dutch Soccer Player Consoled a Referee after he learned that the Official’s Mother had passed away during the Match.

    Virgil van Dijk was captured on Film of Consoling Referee Ovidiu Hategan after the Match against Germany at the Night of November 19, 2018. He showed his Soft Side with a Heart-Warming Embrace.

    Actually Virgil said he had noticed that Ovidiu seemed Emotional during the Football Match and, after asking what was wrong, the Romanian Official revealed he had Recently lost his Mother.

    It was eventually reported that Ovidiu’s mother recently passed away, but this Romanian Referee decided to officiate the game in Schalke, Germany.

    “That man broke, stood with tears in his eyes because he had just lost his mother,” Van Dijk told Voetbal International.

    “I wished him strength and said that he had refereed well. It might be something small, but I hope it helped.”

    Hearing Stories like this is always Great, especially Considering People’s Mixed Experiences with Referees. We have seen write-ups or moments with Refs portrayed in a negative light for many times. Everything from Fans seeing crazy interactions between Players and Refs, like fighting. Or even in the NBA Matches, media would discuss the decline and impact of refereeing.

    No matter what at the End of the Day we are All Human Beings.
